BFA Regional Hub Meetings 2008 - Register Your Interest!

Feeling a bit out on a limb? BFA Hub meetings have been designed to create local networking opportunities for the industry. Evenings will start around 6.30pm, and could include short business presentations and floristry workshops, finishing with a chance to chat and socialise.

These meetings will commence in the Spring of 2008, and dates and venues will be advertised on our website and communicated to all BFA member florists.

The evenings are FREE for BFA members, and non-members are welcome at £10 per shop for two places. Should you join the BFA during the evening, your £10 will be deducted from your joining fee.

To make these evenings a success, the BFA needs YOUR involvement. If you would like to help organise a hub meeting in your area, please email us with your details. If you know of a venue where meetings could be held, or can suggest someone who would be perfect to do a workshop or demonstration, please drop us a line! Getting involved is the best way to ensure an event is held locally to you, and ensures the content is what YOU find most useful.

Flower Council of Holland Workshops 2008

The BFA were delighted to announce that this year the Flower Council of Holland’s 2007 Business and Design workshops were being run exclusively for BFA members to give you all the tools and confidence you need to target the highly lucrative corporate and contract market. If you missed these excellent workshops in 2007, there will be another opportunity in 2008.

The day was split in two halves with the morning session focussing on how to present a business case for using flowers and plants in the workplace, rather than simply ‘selling’ flowers.  The afternoon session run by top designer Richard Haslam, was inspirational with stunning creativity but also gave an extra insight into how to make your work really profitable for the long term.

Previous attendees have found the course to be extremely motivational providing lots of exciting ideas to take away and action in the shop with the aim, most importantly, of growing profits and making more money.

Thanks to Metz for their generous sponsorship of flowers and sundries for the event.

The last workshop for 2007 ran on Tuesday 13th November at the Holiday Inn Manchester, and you can see images from the event below.Click on an image to see a larger version.
