Thank You to our Volunteers

28 Jul 2010

The BFA would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the Eurofleurs event such a big success.

It took over 60 volunteers throughout the week to assist the demonstrators, prepare the floral costumes, design and create presentation bouquets for the gala evening
and manage the crowds inside the marquee. We are extremely grateful to all the volunteers who gave up the time out of their shop to help with the event.
Our special thanks go out to Chief Steward Tina Pound, Sara Collinge and Sara Mudhar who worked tirelessly throughout the week and not forgetting the team at Bournemouth & Poole College for creating such a stunning set of costumes for 'The Wizard of Oz' musical.

Catherine Carter, one of the weekend volunteers said:
'Just a short note to say how much both Jayne Marsh and myself enjoyed helping out at the BFA Marquee on Sunday. Many thanks for the experience!
We both look forward to helping in the future.'

Linda Searle, who helped create the costumes on Tuesday said:
'Dennis, Thank you for a wonderful day with the BFA! Having achieved my level 5 last summer I am keen to keep pushing the design envelope either decorating or demonstrating in the future, so thanks for this opportunity.

Congratulations to you for all the planning you and your team must have put in to achieve a welll organised pre show preparation day and thank you to your team for the friendship shown and opportunity to make our own designs. Take care and hope to meet up soon.'

Sara Collinge, who volunteered for the whole week and also entered the Wedding Shop Window competition said:
'I had a great day. Just the traffic jams going home that spoilt it - nearly 4 hours to do a 2 hour journey !! So many beautiful flowers and a great team of florists. I was in my element. Thanks so much! Would love to get involved again next year!

If you would like to get involved with any of the BFA shows, please e-mail the events team on events@britishfloristassociation.org to be added to our mailing list.
