Nigel Botterill - Entrepreneurs Circle

'What Would the Best Florist in the World Look Like?'

Nigel Botterill is known as the most sought-after business growth expert in the UK.

He’s famous for building 9 separate million pound businesses of his own in the last 12 years and for helping many thousands of other entrepreneurs - including lots of florists - to markedly grow their sales - and their profits.

His high energy, no bulls***, 100% P-R-A-C-T-I-C-A-L talk will be the highlight of the event for many and you'll need a sharp pencil and plenty of paper to gather all the 'nuggets' that Nigel is bringing to our stage.

Paul Ince - BizPaul | Like Mind Media

Why Buy Flowers from You?
Telling Your Business Story Through Social Media

Paul Ince is a digital marketing strategist who believes that the people working within the business are best placed to talk about it. He helps organisations understand their voice and puts strategies in place to amplify it to their market. With 20 years’ experience he has supported many businesses to increase their visibility online and grow their business through digital technology.

Social Media is accessible to all businesses, but the noise for consumers can be deafening. Firms are competing with other businesses in addition to friends and family. In this session Paul will look at why consumers consider price less and how you can use social media to tell a story about your floristry business that builds a connection, loyalty and, ultimately, profit.

Jo Munson - Smith and Munson

A Very British Affair!

Jo heads up the fifth generation family business who specialise in growing premium quality cut flowers.  You may well have sold their flowers as they grow primarily for the florist.

Jo married into the business 26 years ago but she’s as passionate about growing as her husband Stephen and son Edward, her fellow company directors.

Smith and Munson have an eye for detail, produce top quality bloom with the very latest growing techniques, allowing them to harvest every day of the year. Unsurprisingly they are very proud of their brand and are hoping that Brexit will bring more demand and appreciation of British flowers.

Jo will share her love of the tulips and lilies that they grow, whilst explaining how their modern nursery also cares for the environment.

Emma Cummings

Tales from Tregothnan

Emma Cummings has been a florist at Tregothnan Estate for two years, and fully embraces the ethos of supporting UK and local growers, proving it is possible to deliver world class floral designs for customers across a wide a range of areas within floristry utilising the best of British blooms.

Emma’s support for the environment and showcasing British talent goes back to working at the Eden Project as Head of Retail. Working closely with local growers, designers and manufacturers to bring unique and sustainable products to the market place.

The presentation will outline the work of Mathews Flower Group. They will be growing cut flower roses and lilies in glasshouses around the UK for 12 months of the year delivery.

Tregothnan as the landowner have been working with the Council on the waste to heat facility for 5 years. Finding a genuinely great use for the heat has proved elusive and MFG is a perfect match on many levels.

Tregothnan first started growing flowers in 1334. Pioneered floristry in the UK along with leading country houses, House flowers are the origins of modern floristry. The time has come for flowers in the UK!
