BFA FleurEx Masterclasses

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th October 2018


The masterclasses are delivered in a fun, informative and relaxed environment and are suitable for all levels of experience. So whether you just want to brush up on your techniques or learn something completely new, come and have a go and find out what new concepts are waiting to be learnt.Masterclasses are your opportunity to learn something new from a renowned designer. Each 2 hour Master Class includes all your materials so you can simply turn up with your tools and leave with your own masterpiece to take home with you.

To ensure each attendee has the best experience we have limited numbers for each session, so please book early to avoid dissapointment.  Once again 2018 we have masterclasses on Saturday morning and afternoon and the same again all day Sunday.

The 2018 Tutors

This year we have 3 amazing tutors for you to enjoy and learn from.

 

Class 1 Tutor - Bridgittes Heinrichs

Bridgitte will be joining us from Germany to give her expertise.

As a world renown florist this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be taught by one of the leading designers of our times.
 

Bridgitte has won numerous competitions and has been published in many floristry books and magazines. Teaching and demonstrating have taken her around the globe and we know that she will be imparting new ideas in an intimate workshop that we're sure will sell out quickly! Design:

With the wealth of international experience Briditte has, she will be teaching some amazing constructions and different forms and how best we can create designs including  structures.

Class 2 Tutor - Jenny Murphy

Jenny is joining us from across the water; from Ireland.  

Countless successes have seen Jenny in her professional floristry career, from many prestigious competition wins including the coveted RHS Chelsea Florist of the year. Jenny has created large scale designs  including an incredible creation in Singapore Garden Festival for which she was awarded Bronze medal.

Jenny works in her family business in Co Meath and this busy business shows her incredible talents and where she creatively pushes the boundaries. One of the reasons why she is a Floral Fundamentals ambassador and enjoys taking part in photoshoots.

Design:

Botanical Jewellery will be the theme for Jenny's workshop. Would you like to create a body ordorment to catch the eye! This could be used within your business or help with your compeition work  in many ways, but for the 2 hours you can let your creativity flow.

Class 3 Tutor - Jane Benefield

Jane started her career working in commercial flower shops where she honed her technical and design skills.

As a competitor Jane was extremely skilled and successful winning many accolades in professional floristry including:

  • Interflora florist of the year in 2002
  • Chelsea gold medal in 2003
  • Interflora florist of the year in 2004
  • four medals in the Fusion International Designer Competition 2010

Jane is floristry course manager at Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell Centre. She shares her expert knowledge through teaching and mentoring students to enable them to reach their maximum potential and to keep floristry standards at a high level of professionalism.

Jane has previously won Floristry Tutor of the Year at the BFA Industry Awards, which illustrates just what an exceptional tutor she is!

When Laura Leong represented the UK at the Europa Cup in Genoa, who did she turn to for the essential role of here assistant? Yep Laura was thrilled that Jane was able, and pleased to take on the role.

Design:

The lucky delegates attending Jane's workshop will be creating a stunning 'Hanging bouquet/ create a bridal design from beautiful Autumnal  materials this will be a using some new and interesting techniques that can be adapted for many different designs.

Entry to FleurEx 2018 is free to BFA and IOPF members, however it is most imporant you register for your ticket. Also please note that this year tickets for the demonstration are NOT included in the entry price and will have to be purchased seperately. CLICK HERE to find out more about them - we know you're not going to want to miss them.

  • Saturday 27th October are 13:00 -17:00hrs / 1pm - 5pm
  • Sunday 28th October from 9:30 -16:00hrs / 9.30am - 4pm

Where do the designs go?

The inspirational pieces that are created during the demonstrations are offered to the visitors at the end of the event in a raffle which helps the BFA to raise money for a good cause, last year's proceeds went to the BBC's Children in Need campaign.
