Elizabeth Newcombe will soon be battling it out against Florists from 27 other European countries in the competition that runs from the 26 - 28th September in Budapest. We will be cheering on Elizabeth and the rest of Team UK as they aim to bring home the medals.
The road to Budapest started with Elizabeth signing up and taking part in a regional worldskills heat, which led to her place at the WorldSkills UK competition which is held annually at Birmingham NEC in November 2017 where Elizabeth scooped a silver medal .
The British Florist Association is the official partner of The Worldskill UK competitions. Our floristry section is run by the training and Education and IoPF Chairman Sandie Griffith who has been honoured by Worldskills UK for the expection work she carries out.
Excellent training and support is given to Elizabeth to ensure she's ready to take on the challenge. Laura Leong is the Training Manager with Assistant Training Manger Linda Owen, both have a wealth of experience and have traveled the globe, they are the perfect pair to guide Elizabeth on her competition journey.
Nearly 600 highly skilled young professionals from 28 countries will take part in this years’ competition, across 40 skills, showcasing that their exceptional knowledge and talent. The competition is excellent on so many levels however, it won't be just UK Governments and industry will be watching EuroSkills Budapest 2018 with huge interest to benchmark how well Team UK performs against other European countries!

The first step is the take part in the UK Worldskills heat competitions, these are held throughout the UK typically in May and June. Registration for the heats are essential.
