Monday 13th June see's the beginning of British Flowers Week 2016.
British Flowers Week is the annual nationwide celebration of British cut flower growers and the skilled independent florists they supply.
The aim to have you - the British consumers to buy - and value, seasonal British flowers and foliages. The campaign unites the British cut flower industry bringing together retail and event florists, flower schools, growers, wholesalers and usThe British Florist Association to showcase the best of British flowers, foliages and of course floristry.
British cut flowers are back in fashion,along with the trend for vintage, seasonality, fragrance and more naturalistic design, that featured in so many magazines, no where has this trend been seen more than in wedding work. Nonetheless, British-grown flowers are still thought to represent less than 15% of the £2bn worth of flowers sold in the UK every year.
British Flowers Week has become an exciting showcase for all that is truly brilliant about British flower growers and the independent British florist,In June 2015, British Flowers Week workshops, talks and floral demonstrations took place in flower shops, on flower farms and in event venues up and down the country.
There were British cut flowers in Downing Street thanks to us her at the British Florist Association, in stately homes and RHS gardens, whilst on Social Media the hashtag #BritishFlowersWeek lit up, reaching 5.4 million on Twitter alone and we know 2016 will be bigger and better!
