Level 4 Higher Diploma in professional floristry (ICSF) – one day a week
Level 5 Master Diploma in professional floristry (from September 2020) – one day a week
Throughout the year we have various one-off day courses and visiting designers who do workshops with the students and we offer employer update courses also. Students also have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals at RHS Chatsworth flower show in June.
We have fantastic purpose built workshops and studios which are set within the land-based area of Sheffield College (Hillsborough Campus)
Students are offered the opportunity to attend various industry based visits throughout their time with us which include:
British flower fields visitVisits to various wholesalers, Fleurex Industry trade show, Harrogate and RHS Chatsworth flower showsWorld Skills competitions.
Information on the apprenticeships: To be an apprentice florist you need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week in a floristry based business. This includes one day a week in college where you will workTowards your Level 2 or 3 in work-based floristry. Tutors/assessors will visit you in your work place every 6-8 weeks to check your progression and chat to your employers.
Tutors are qualified to Level 4 Diploma and Level 5 Master Diploma level and have all relevant teaching qualifications as standard.
