Bishop Burton College and University Centre Bishop Burton (UCBB) is one of the UK’s leading land-based educational institutions. Over the past 65 years, investments in facilities and recourses have seen the learning environment at Bishop Burton go from strength to strength. With years of industry experience and quality teaching resources, our dedicated Floristry studios enable students to develop their own creative style working on real client briefs and even take part in high-profile floristry competitions and events throughout the year.

School Levers courses currently on offer:

Level 2 Technical Certificate in Floristry – 1 year

This runs over one year, three days per week of taught sessions, and is intended for students who are looking to start a career within the Floristry industry.

  • Preparing to create floristry designs
  • Creating floristry designs
  • Customer service
  • Caring for and maintaining floristry products
  • Floristry design principals.

Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Floristry – 1 or 2 years

This runs over one to two years, two days per week of taught sessions, to develop the knowledge and understanding needed to work in the retail Floristry sector, including enterprise and customer service skills.

  • The conditioning of flowers and foliage
  • Floristry design, including weddings and funerals
  • Multicultural designs
  • Floral arrangements.

University Level programmes currently on offer:

FdA Floristry Design – 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time

This interdisciplinary programme of study will develop students’ knowledge of floristry skills and techniques, supported with essential theoretical studies.

Year 2:

  • The Business of Floristry

BA (Hons) Floristry Design (Top-Up) – 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time

This programme is designed for those students who have successfully completed the Foundation Degree in Floristry or an appropriate Level 5 qualification and who wish to ‘top-up’ to gain an honours degree award.
