Institute of Professional Florists Membership

Belonging to the Institute of Professional Florists is an essential part of your portfolio as an individual professional florist. Not only will it endorse your professional skills to customers and the public, it will set you apart individually when applying for jobs, freelancing or endorsing yourself to clients.

Maintaining standards within our Industry by obtaining industry approved qualifications shows that our members are participating and recording continuous professional development. Therefore showing, without doubt, that you are an active and enthusiastic member of the industry.

By joining the Institute of Professional Florists (IoPF) you are agreeing to adhere and uphold the aims and objectives of the Institute and comply with the membership criteria

Aims of the Institute:

To uphold the professional status of florists in the UK and to encourage florists to engage in the process that will record professional development.

To ensure we maintain consistent high standards within the floristry industry through our training and qualifications.

To support our members to meet their professional development needs and help floristry businesses identify learning opportunities for their teams.

Therefore on joining you must:

Provide and upload evidence onto the Skills Manager programme, in order that you can be endorsed as having met the criteria of the level of membership you have applied for within the required timescale.

Identify personal training and career needs associated with the Floristry Industry.

Regularly upload and maintain evidence of ongoing continuous professional development

After you have applied you will be issued with:

Unique password to access the Skills Manager programme. Once level of membership has been endorsed you will receive your Membership certificate with the relevant letters that you will be entitled to use behind your signature (not applicable to students)

Regularly upload and maintain evidence of ongoing continuous professional development

Identify personal training and career needs associated with the Floristry Industry. 

£40 per year

Semi skilled basic knowledge, either training in the workplace or registered with a college. Student card or letter from employer/workplace training provider as evidence of training.*

Please note this category of membership is only applicable for one year.

£60 per year

Florist /Skilled – successful achievement of a recognised awarding body Level 2 qualification.*

£70 per year

Senior Florist Supervisor/ skilled – successful achievement of a recognised awarding body Level 3 qualification*

£78 per year

Manager specialist – successful achievement of a recognised awarding body Level 4 qualification. City and Guilds Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry (ICSF) (HDF) or Foundation Certificate Professional Floristry and Floral Design

£78 per year

Owner/Senior Manager – successful achievement of a recognised awarding body Level 5 qualification. City and Guilds Level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry (NDSF) (MDPF) or BA (Hons) Professional Floristry and Floral Design

£60 per year

Category for Tutors, Level 1 – tutor having achieved a recognised awarding body Level 3 qualification* and working towards Level 4 (City and Guilds Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry (ICSF) (HDF) or Foundation Certificate Professional Floristry and Floral Design)

£78 per year

Category for Tutors Level 2 – Having achieved Level 4. (City and Guilds Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry (ICSF) (HDF) or Foundation Certificate Professional Floristry and Floral Design) or Level 5 (City and Guilds Level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry (NDSF) (MDPF) or BA (Hons) Professional Floristry and Floral Design)

* Bench Trained Florists

We welcome bench trained florists into the Institute and we have criteria for all the levels of membership.  We ask that you contact the IoPF Skills Manager at iopf@britishfloristassociation.org and she will advise you of which level to apply for.

IOPF Membership renewals

To renew, simply select the membership plan from the product opposite and make a payment. Once payment is received our membership team will renew your plan.
